The Lead Youth Treatment Counselor will provide direct supervision and support to school-based Youth Treatment Counselors (YTCs). The Lead YTC is responsible for providing weekly supervision, mentoring, modeling, and training to Youth Treatment Counselors in their daily responsibilities.


Essential Job Functions
 
  • Provides weekly individual supervision and group supervision, and daily support to Youth Treatment Counselors
  • Provides hands on support and training of YTC duties, including but not limited to, critical incident reports, daily logs, SWISS data, daily notes, and head count sheets
  • Participation in inter-departmental meetings, including child team meetings, weekly debriefs, all education meetings and team building activities
  • Works collaboratively with other department leaders to ensure consistency and continuity between education, milieu, and clinical teams 
  • Responsible for ensuring that social, emotional, and behavioral interventions are provided in a trauma-sensitive and developmentally appropriate manner
  • Works with YTC to support the implementation of clinician treatment plans and IEPs as directed by the teacher and Clinician
  • Support of training opportunities provided to YTCs, including but not limited to, Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI), Attachment, Regulation and Competency (ARC) Framework, the Neurosequential Model (NM), and Motivational Interviewing
  • Will support the interviewing and hiring of YTCs in the school

Other Job Functions
 
  • Be current in QMAP qualification and agency protocols related to medication administration
  • Participates in organizational trainings and meetings as required
  • Other duties as assigned

Physical Requirements
 
  • Must be able to successfully complete a pre-hire physical
  • Implement behavioral interventions as needed

Working Conditions
 
  • In person on campus work/school and treatment environment 100% of time
  • Minimal travel may be required

Minimum Qualifications
 
  • BA degree in a Human Services field or an equivalent combination of education and experience required
  • Related experience in an educational setting with children K-12 with emotional disabilities and other learning challenges
  • Supervisory experience
  • Ability to be Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI) trained and TCI refreshers maintained over the course of employment
  • Must have a working understanding of trauma informed care principles
  • Must have or be able to obtain QMAP certification
  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • Strong organizational, management and collaboration skills required
  • All candidates must have or qualify to obtain a current Colorado driver’s license (Must obtain license within 30 days of employment)
  • All positions require criminal CBI background check, FBI fingerprint check, State of CO child abuse check, DMV driving record check, pre-employment drug test, pre-employment physical, academic credential verification, and reference check
